Dry Alarm Valve Accelerator
The Dry Accelerator is a quick-opening device designed to reduce the operating time of dry pipe sprinkler systems. It detects a rapid drop in system air pressure and quickly releases air from the actuator, allowing the sprinkler control valve to open faster. Installed on the air supply trim at the inlet of the dry actuator, the Dry Accelerator remains closed under normal system pressure. When a sprinkler operates and system air pressure falls, a pressure difference develops between the upper and lower chambers. Once the pressure differential reaches approximately 0.2–0.4 bar (3–5 psi), the Dry Accelerator opens and vents air to atmosphere. This rapidly releases pressure from the actuator, enabling faster operation of the sprinkler valve and improving system response during a fire event.
